San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2017

2012 Estate

91 Points, Vinous Magazine

Assertive red fruit and floral pastille aromas show very good energy and focus, with a spicy element adding complexity. Juicy and pliant on the palate, offering gently sweet, nicely concentrated raspberry and cherry flavors and a hint of allspice. Subtle tannins build slowly on the long, smooth finish. -Josh Raynolds, October 2015 Vinous Magazine

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast

From vines planted in 1999, this nicely oaked effort shows full ripeness without sacrificing details of forest and mushroom. Cherry cola, iron ore and a palate pleasing dose of barrel toast all contribute to the lengthy finish. — P.G. (10/1/2014)

91 Points, Wine Spectator

Lively, vibrant and juicy, with raspberry, floral and green pepper-corn flavors that zip easily across the refined tannins, finishing pointed and persistent. Drink now through 2022. –H.S. (10/31/14)

2012 The Cummins Road

89 Points, Vinous Magazine

Ripe red berries, fresh flowers and a hint of cola on the perfumed nose. Plush and expansive on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate that gains strength in the glass. -Josh Raynolds October, 2015 Vinous Magazine

2013 Old Vine Chenin Blanc

San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2017

2012 Old Vine Chenin Blanc

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast

Bone dry and hinting at a sweet herb flavor, this wine backs away from the fruitiness found in most domestic Chenin Blanc. It offers complex details of yellow fruit, lemon verbena and beeswax. — P.G. (4/1/2013)

89 Points, Wine Spectator

Dry, crisp and expressive, offering pear, quince and toast flavors that linger on the finish. Drink now through 2015. 252 cases made. –H.S.
